Field of View (ft.@1000yds / m@1000m) 340 / 113

“Field of view” is how wide the image is, when you look through the binoculars.

The structure of this information is always confusing, when first seen (and until almost forever without some assistance).

SIMPLY:
To show this in an understandable format it should be:
340 feet @1000 yards away OR 113 meters @ 1000 meters away
340 ft @1000 yards / 113 M @ 1000 M

COMPLEX STUDY:
They give you two numbers, to describe the width of the image, “340″ FEET and “113″ METERS.
The key to those numbers is:
“ft.@1000yds” = Feet at 1000 Yards way from you.
“m@1000m” = Meters at 1000 Meters away from you.
“ft.@1000yds” is “width in FEET when looking at something 1,000 YARDS away from you”.
“m@1000m” is “width in METERS when looking at something 1,000 METERS away from you”.

Close Focus (ft. / m) 6.5 / 1.9
“Close Focus” is how close you can be and still have a properly focused view.
6.5 Feet OR 1.9 Meters

FYI: Bushnell is well known for very good, to excellent, quality binoculars.

What did I see?
I’m at my house on Cape Cod, 70 D 11M North and 41 D 44M West. At about 11:15 PM this evening (6/25) I was scanning the Northern sky with my binoculars when I spotted an object moving. I drop the glasses to see if it was visible to the eye and it was not. When I used the binoc’s again I note there are 2 of these objects in the field of view. They were the same magnitude and although it looked like a chase the distance remained the same until I lost them as they dipped to the horizon.

These objects were very faint. I’m using Bushnell 10 by 50′s and the field of view is about 5.2 degrees. The objects took up about 3/4 of the field of view and I’d guess 7 or 8 for a magnitude. I have never seen 2 faint Sat’s in the same field and orbit b4, not counting a Shuttle/ Space Station docking. I first spotted them north of Cygnus and lost them below Altair.

Anybody have an idea what I saw? How about 2 planes chasing? No airplane lights, though. Steady white color.
The “space junk” option makes the most sense. I just ran a sat tracking program for the time I observed the stuff and nothing came up. Also, space junk would be more likely to have the same orbit. I can’t think of any birds 5 degrees apart in the same polar orbit. It just doesn’t make sense and the program I used tracks 8000 birds.

Or it could have been space junk. There’s over ten thousand pieces of it orbiting earth, and on average one piece falls to earth per day.
